Sample Thanksgiving Letter to Employees

By | November 17, 2016

Thanksgiving Day usually comes under the shadow of Christmas, the two holidays being so close together. However, there are many people out there who do give Thanksgiving its due respect and celebrate the day with fervor – and by thanking the Lord for all that He has bestowed upon them.

In professional settings, wishing your employees “Happy Thanksgiving” is a great way of connecting with them, and showing them that they matter. By writing a letter to them, you can easily communicate how much you appreciate their work and what they mean to you as both people and employees. During this time, people are usually in a festive mood and it is a great idea to reach out to them and show how much you care.

If you intend to hold an official event for Thanksgiving, do mention it in your letter. If at all possible, make sure that your official event does not fall on the same day as the actual Thanksgiving Day – after all, you do not want your employees to miss out on their family time on this very special day. If you have something to offer to your employees like a bonus or some good news regarding the company, this is the best time to break it.

Sample Thanksgiving Letter to Employees

November 17, 2016

Dear Employees:

2016 has been one of the best years that Milton Security has seen in the last decade. And what better time to appreciate your work than this special day? Please allow me to thank each and every one of you for your consistent support and contribution to all the projects that we have successfully completed this year.

As a thank you gesture, I would like to announce a long weekend from November 24 to November 27! On the 25th, I would be delighted if all of you could join me for a dinner at The Ritz to celebrate this special time of the year. If you are free and would like to be part of this celebration, please let Ms. Emma Watson (administrative assistant) know. If not, please do not forget to pick up your special gift from her when you leave office on the 23rd of November.

Monday, November 28, 2016 will be a normal working day at the office. I am positive that a long weekend and the happiness associated with Thanksgiving will give us all the recharge that we need to fruitfully end this year. Have a wonderful holiday season and a very happy Thanksgiving Day to all of you!

Sincerely,

(Signature)
