Sample Christmas Letter to Boss

By | November 10, 2014

Spreading goodwill, especially during Christmas time, gives one a very noble feeling. You can write Christmas cards or letters to your friends, family members, co-workers and even your boss! Yes, it is alright to send a Christmas letter to your boss, and it will not be taken as a means of buttering up!

Christmas cards are usually more popular than Christmas letters, but due to space limitation (and prewritten wordings), one may not be able to express all that one wants to in a card. If space is an issue, you should consider writing a Christmas letter instead.

A Christmas letter will include your Christmas greetings to your boss and will go on to other – some related and some not so much – information. You can thank a boss for a particular opportunity that you have been provided with and you can also talk about your enthusiasm for a subsequent project. But remember that you are writing a Christmas letter so your focus should be on and around this.

But of course, wishing Merry Christmas only cannot possibly cover the length of an entire letter so you may have to diversify a little. Here is how you can do this:

Dear Mr. Firth:

I take the liberty to write this letter to express my wishes for Christmas and the New Year. I hope that this Christmas and the New Year brings in personal happiness and professional success your way.

This is a beautiful time to thank you for all the opportunities that you have provided to me over the last eleven months. These were responsible for an entire spectrum of concepts that I have learned and used to develop the many design modules that our customers are so satisfied with. Working at Lockhart Designing Company has been a dream come true, and I have you to be thankful to for having faith in me and my work.

Next year, I look forward to the Gogo Project that the company has undertaken and vow to work on it as successfully as I did the last three. Your positive guidance and encouragement will, of course, be an excellent source of support to me during this project as well.

Without further ado, I would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Regards,
