Car Loan Letter Format

The first thing you have to do is to write a letter to the bank to ask how you can go about applying for a car loan. This will be the beginning of the car loan application process and is very important so it stands to reason, that you will need to word your letter carefully. The best way to do this is to provide all the information that the bank will need in the first go – or at least all that you know of. If you look through the website of the bank in question, you will be able to determine what documents will be needed and you can supply copies with your letter.

Your letter should be precise and informative. Why are you eligible for a car loan? Can you pay it back? Do you have a regular income? You need to answer all these questions in your letter. Here is a format that you can use to write your own car loan letter:

Dear Mr. Henderson:

I have been contemplating applying for a car loan for three months now and have recently come across the auto loan plans on your website. The plans that Meridian Auto Loans is offering are much more competitive than other auto loan agencies and I believe that I have found the perfect one for myself.

Having been through each auto loan plan in detail, I have decided to apply for Pay As You Go which suits me the best. I am presently working as a Sales Manager for Jean Claude Inc. and earn an annual salary of $120,888 and believe that I have the capability of paying back this loan within 5 years, as the plan offers.

Please refer to copies of my employment letter, salary slips (last 12 months) and bank statement (last six months). These documents will help you decide my eligibility for this loan. If you need any further information from me before I qualify for a preapproval, please let me know.

Thank you for taking out the time to read this letter. I anticipate a reply from you soon.

Regards,
