Sample Letter to a Friend on New Year

The New Year is around the corner and now is the time to think of different ways of sending greetings to your friends. You may opt for a short text or a Facebook message but wouldn’t it be nice if you could write an actual letter? Makes it all the more personal when you write a letter!

As a new generation, letter writing is an alien concept to us. Thank technology for that! But can you imagine the joy at receiving a personalized letter? If you can, you should probably provide the same happiness to your close friends. How does one write a New Year letter?

There is nothing simpler than writing a personalized letter to wish your friend Happy New Year! You simply start off on a friendly note, greet him or her and relay any plans that you may have for the New Year. If you are writing a letter to a friend, it stands to reason that your friend doesn’t live too near you. You may make your friend happy by telling him or her that you miss them!

Typically, writing a New Year letter is no biggie. You have to be yourself. This is how you can write one:

Dear Elizabeth:

The festivities, the colors and the energy in the air are just amazing this New Year. And I cannot help but think of all the new years that we spent together in the last two decades! This year, it just won’t be the same without you. Nonetheless, I would like to wish you a very Happy New Year 2016! I hope and wish that all your dreams and aspirations come true in the next twelve months!

Sarah and I are planning the customary trip to the SOS Children’s Village on New Year’s Day. We have started shopping for goodies and asking around for old clothes and toys to take along. This year, we collected a substantial amount of money for shopping for the orphan children and it makes me all warm inside. Again, I wish that you were part of these festivities, even though I know that you are with me in spirit.

I hope that the arrangements for the New Year are as beautiful in New Baltimore as they are in Midland. Maybe in the summers, Sarah and I can come over and stay with you for a while! What a blast that would be!

Do write back. It will be wonderful to hear from you. Once again, a very happy New Year to you and your family.
