Apology Letter to Police Officer for Bad Behavior

By | March 20, 2017

We all make mistakes in our life at, and it’s only human. Even if we are nice at heart, we sometimes behave in a manner which we often regret. If you have been rude or just shown any undesirable behavior towards an officer of the law, and wish to apologize, you’ve come to the right place.

I realize that you did not mean to show someone your worst side, you must have been in a bad mood. Whatever you may have done, you will need to accept it in your letter and take responsibility for it.

Writing apology letters can be difficult, but it’s okay. Try to keep a neutral tone and don’t come off as if you are trying to excuse yourself and blame circumstance, or a bad mood, as that will look as if you have not admitted your mistake, and it may not come across as genuine to the officer reading it. Here is how to do this:

Sample Apology Letter to Police Officer for Bad Behavior

Officer Michel Gonzales
Name of Police Station
Street address
Town, State, Zip code

Subject: Apology for bad behavior

Dear Officer Gonzales:

I am writing to apologize for the incident that had occurred between you and me, on June 19 at 12:45. I meant no disrespect for the law or the mechanism supporting and defending the law. I had no intention of being rude to you.

I accept that my behavior was completely uncalled for, and I understand that being rude to someone who has sworn an oath to protect me and to uphold the law, I have, in one way, democratically, agreed on is an unforgivable act. However, I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me and give me a chance to do things differently in the future.

I am not going to blame anyone for my bad mood, because I should have kept my mental state under control since you did not do anything to me. It is wrong to take anger out on someone who did not earn it, and especially on a police officer. I assure you that I will never do anything like this as again, this was a rude awakening for me. Since I was in a bad mood, I was affecting everyone around me, including an officer of the law, who was doing his job. I am not proud of the way I behaved, and I want to change that.

Please consider this as the first and last warning you needed to give me.

Respectfully,

Signature
