Bank Teller Cover Letter No Experience

By | December 22, 2014

A cover letter for a bank teller position will only be effective if you meet the needs of the employer. Therefore, the first step in writing a cover letter for bank teller resume is to determine the exact needs of the employer and write the same in order of priority.

Identify the key elements of your profile and relate them with the job description provided by a prospective employer. This will form the core of your cover letter. Being an entry level candidate, you obviously do not have much experience to showcase. What you can do to make up for lack of experience is to focus on your personality traits and transferable skills in cashiering and customer service. You can also focus on your classroom experiences to develop relevance with the bank teller position.

Above all, instill your interest in working for a specific bank. Show them that you have taken time to study the bank’s standard procedures. This will communicate your level of seriousness for the job.

Following is a bank teller cover letter sample for candidates with no experience.

Mr. Timothy Anderson
HR In Charge
People’s Bank
799 Watson Ave
Hanford, CA 56333

Dear Mr. Anderson:

Do you seek a Bank Teller who is:

▬ Able to work productively in a bank environment while communicating effectively with the coworkers and managers?
▬ Motivated to acquire and maintain up to date knowledge regarding bank services and products?
▬ Well-versed in greeting customers courteously and processing monetary transactions as per request?

Introducing myself as an analytic-minded fresh and energetic individual, I offer a functional knowledge of transaction processing, deposit box and cash drawers handling, teller sales duties, operational procedures and management of ATMs, TCDs and TSRs.

During my banking course project, I conducted comprehensive research on the ABC Bank’s policies and standard operational procedures. The experience has amply furnished me with useful knowledge regarding general banking procedures and expectations from the teller position. I believe this is an added strength and definitely gives my candidacy an edge with my competitors.

I would welcome an opportunity to sit with you to share the case study report and to reflect on how my relevant skills, training and knowledge can be productive at the People’s Bank. I shall be following up next week with the aim of attaining an interview date and time. If you need to speak earlier, I am reachable at (007) 333-5555.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

(Signatures)
