Loan Application Letter Sample

Writing a loan application letter is the best way of obtaining a loan from your office or a bank. Depending on what type of loan you want, you need to provide specifics in your loan application letter. If you are looking for a mortgage or car loan, you will have to follow the instructions that mortgage companies or banks provide to you. If it is a personal loan that you are looking for, you might have a little more room to word your loan application letter.

Your loan application letter should be simply written – there is no need to mince your words as you are asking for a service and not a favor! Write down the reason why you need a loan and how you intend to pay it back. If you know of a payback method that the company / institute offers, mention it so that the loan officer knows that you have done your homework. Remember that the more informed you are about a loan policy, the easier it will be for you to decide on the best loan option for yourself.

Once you have decided on the loan plan that you intend to apply for, you can begin writing your loan application letter. You may or may not enclose a loan application form – if you are applying for a loan and are using the loan application as a cover, you will of course need to enclose the loan application form; if you are just inquiring about a possible loan, only a letter will suffice. Here is a sample:

Loan Application Letter Sample

Mr. Jeremy Clarkson
Loan Officer
Bradenton State Bank
45 61st Avenue
Bradenton, FL 16353

Dear Mr. Clarkson:

I appreciate the time you took out to explain the procedures of applying for a personal loan from Bradenton State Bank. I have studied the loan plans that you provided to me and believe that Plan B suits me the best as it is based on monthly payments which I believe will be easy for me to manage as I am paid on the 2nd day of each month.

As I mentioned during our meeting, I need a personal loan amounting to $4000 to renovate my house (66 21st Avenue, Bradenton, FL). Since my house is literally falling apart around me, I need to get work done on it on an immediate basis. The loan application form that you handed me has been filled and enclosed with this letter. I am also attaching proof of my employment and my bank statement for the previous six months as you requested.

I would appreciate it if you could get this expedited. If there are any other documents that I need to provide, please let me know. I can be contacted at (444) 444-4444 if you need any further information from me.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Regards,
