Happy New Year Letter Sample to Teacher

By | November 26, 2014

Your teacher is the individual in your life who definitely deserves to receive a New Year greeting letter from you. Contrary to what many people believe, writing a letter to your teacher is not inappropriate considering the content is apposite and doesn’t become too personal.

New year cards are very to-the-point, on the other hand new year letters are a different ballgame altogether. These letters have some detail in them which corresponds to individual situations and greetings. So if you are writing a new year letter to your teacher, you will have to firstly sit down and think what you can write in the letter apart from the customary “Happy New Year”. You will be surprised to know that there is much that you can write in a letter of this type. Every opportunity to make a connection with your teacher should be availed and sending her season’s greetings is a great way of doing this.

You can talk about how much you enjoy the class or subject that she teaches and even what your aspirations are. The sample below can be used as a base to write a happy new year letter to your teacher.

Dear Ms. Watson:

2015 was a great and eventful year for us – 8th Graders – and as it comes to a close, I would like to thank you for all the guidance you provided to us throughout the academic year. Please accept my sincere greetings for the New Year. I hope that 2016 will bring tremendous joy and success to you.

It makes me sad to think that you will not be teaching us in Grade 9. I am so used to learning new concepts your way that it will become a bit difficult for me to adapt to this change. However, you have also taught me to be flexible in my attitude and I will do my best to make sure that I adjust with Ms. James – our new English teacher in Grade 9.

During circle time one day, you had asked us what career we intended to take up eventually which earned you a confused smile from me. Well, I am not confused anymore; I would like to work as a teacher – someone who has the same values as you. This is my New Year’s resolution and I intend to keep it until I can be successful at achieving it.

Because of your presence in my academic life, I look forward to the New Year and wait for the challenges that it will offer. I am looking forward to seeing you at the class part on Monday.

Yours Obediently,
