Classroom Party Letter to Parents Requesting Food Donations

By | December 22, 2016

It’s so wonderful that you’re a room mom or dad, and you’re here looking for tips on writing a classroom party letter asking some amazing parents just like yourself to help by donating food.

Nothing like a classroom party to uplift the spirits and performances of students. I must say I envy you, as you must be delighted that you’re about to write this letter!

Once everything for the party is decided, all you have to do is inform the parents of the occasion, time and venue, and then move on to asking them if they can send some food and decoration items.

It’s always a good idea to share the party theme, and what menu options they could choose from. It helps them decide what to send, especially if you don’t want to end up with 20 parfaits or lasagnas… oops!

Classroom Party Letter to Parents Requesting Food Donations

Dear Parents:

William’s High School wishes you all Season’s Greetings!

We are having a school party to celebrate the holiday season, and the academic success of your children! The party will be held on the school playground at 3:00 pm, on Monday, January 2, 2017 for your 5th graders.

Now that their exams are finally over, your children eagerly await this party, with great excitement and energy! They’ve taken the entire event upon themselves; from deciding theme and menu, to distributing work among themselves. We’re really proud of the effort they’re making, and they need just a little support, by donating some food, to make it a great party. And what could be better than homecooked food, prepared with love, by the parents themselves!

The menu decided by the students includes: lasagna, pizza, cupcakes, sandwiches, crème brulee, falafel, spring rolls, fish fingers, apple pie, and potato salad, and fresh juice and hot chocolate for drinks. We discourage store beverages containing added sweeteners and chemicals, for their unsound effects on your children’s physical and cognitive health. If you decide to prepare one, or an alternative of these items, a heads-up would be appreciated and will help the children coordinate and have variety.

If you choose to send some decorations as well, that would be a huge help, but we don’t want you to go through the trouble of purchasing any, so used decorations from your attic will suffice.

It will also be annual picture day, so make sure your child comes dressed up in appropriate attire, in accordance with the school policy for class pictures. Class photos will be ready for collection from the office by Friday.

Note that the school day will go as usual, then at 11:00 a.m. the students will be allowed to go to the party, so please send with them their schoolbags.

We look forward for a positive response. Should you have any questions, please contact us by email or the school’s phone number. Thank you!

Sincerely,
