Sample End of Year Party Letter to Parents

By | June 7, 2015

End of the year parties are as much fun for teachers as they are for students. The bittersweet time when students are moving on to a new class and teachers look forward to a new crop of children to nurture and teach, is celebrated with parties that provide both students and teachers with time to bond for the very last time.

And it is that time of the year that administrators (and sometimes teachers) are given the task of writing a letter to parents to make them aware of these end of the year celebrations. Usually, parents are not invited to end of the year parties but they do need to be informed so that they can prepare their children for the event. Letters of this type are typically written “to parents” as a whole. There is often some information on what type of a party it is (pool party, lawn party etc.) and if the students are required to bring any food items or come dressed in a certain manner.

Also, end of the year party letters often provide parents with information on anything that they need to know for the beginning of the next term. To find out more on how to write an end of the year party letter to parents, read the following sample:

Sample End of Year Party Letter to Parents

June 7, 2015

Dear Parents:

As the 2015 academic year comes to the end, our school is happy to announce its customary end of the year party, which will be held in the school grounds on June 20, 2015 between 11 am and 1 pm. Arrangements are already underway to make this a truly happening time for your child, to mark the end of their school year and to give them a taste of what is to come in the next academic year.

Our students are very excited about the party and many of them have volunteered to help the teachers with the arrangements. Your child is required to dress up in light summer clothes, preferably with a hat or cap as it is predicted to be a sunny day on the 20th. Since food is usually the focal point of a children’s party, each child has been asked to bring one food item to share with his friends. It is up to the child (and parents) to decide which item they would like to bring.

Please ensure that your child is dropped to school and picked up on time. The end of the year letter has been uploaded on the school web portal for your information. If there is any further information that you require from us, please feel free to call the school office between 8:30 am and 1 pm.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
