No Objection Letter Sample for Visa

By | August 13, 2015

Okay so now you have your holiday plans all sorted out and are raring to go! But there is a small delay. The visa people say that they need a no objection letter from your employer before they can process your visa. What now? Not to worry! Simply ask your employer to provide you with one. Of course, you will have to explain to him why the visa officer is asking for one. Here is how you can explain:

If you have a steady job in your own country and would like to take some time out and visit another country, there are a couple of things that you will need to prove. The first and foremost is the fact that you intend to return to your country and not remain illegally in another one. The best way to do this is to get your employer to vouch for you. This is standard practice – visa officers are usually convinced that if you have a steady job in your own country and have no reason to leave, you will definitely not overstay your visa in another country. Fair enough!

When you ask your employer to provide you with an NOC, help him out with what needs to be written in it. It will need to be addressed to the visa officer but since you don’t know which visa officer will receive your application, the best way to do this is to begin using “Dear Sir / Madam:” Be specific and provide adequate information so that rejection is a far possibility. Here is a sample no objection letter from an employer to a visa officer to help an employee apply for a visa:

Dear Sir / Madam:

This is with reference to Mr. Oliver Massey, who has been working as a marketing manager for Otus Publications under my supervision. Mr. Massey has recently applied for a visit visa to Thailand and would like to travel at the end of next month (September 2015).

I would like to certify that Mr. Massey is on a 10 year contract (renewable at the end of the term) with Otus Publications and has sufficient accumulated vacation time (45 days annually) that he can take advantage of at any time between September and June every year. The company has authorized his leave for 45 days starting from September 25, 2015.

Furthermore, I would like to endorse that Mr. Massey can handle his own travelling and living expenses while he is in Thailand I have attached a document stating his annual income (dispersed over 12 months) with this letter as required by you.

As his employer, I have no objections to him travelling to Thailand. Please feel free to contact me at (333) 333-3333 if you need any further information about Mr. Massey which may help his visa application case along.

Thank you for your consideration in this regard.

Sincerely,
