Thank You Letter to Volunteer for Services

By | April 3, 2017

When calamity strikes, there is so much suffering and loss. And there are the public servants, and the personnel of the city’s various departments; the Fire Department, the Police, as often mayhem ensues, medics, and all put their lives at risk to save any lives they could. Their efforts are exceptional, and the city is grateful to them. And then there are those whose job it isn’t, but they still do what they can to help their fellow humans.

They lend more than a hand in the rescue, triage and aid operations. They drop everything and run to a cause larger than themselves, and the energy they carry, the selfless, tireless, often self-neglecting efforts make all the difference. It is this Good Samaritan spirit is what makes America great. When the rescue and aid efforts are concluded, don’t forget to thank those who civilian volunteers who jumped to help in any way they could. Here is a sample which you can tailor to your situation:

Dear Mr. Reynolds:

No portrayal can ever sufficiently illustrate the expression of your volunteer efforts, nor can any words describe the true appreciation and gratitude that we have for your hard work.

On behalf of all the men and women at the volunteer providing services, let us express a very deep and heartfelt “Thank You” for so openhandedly giving of yourself, your time, and resources, during the past week and a half following the terrible calamity that befell the Serenity Apartments building.

It began a beautiful morning, and within a matter of a few minutes, our community, our state, and our nation had been rocked and shaken as never before. It takes a great deal of courage to get past the shock of a calamity that affects the masses of people, and it even makes a higher amount of courage to be one of the few people who put in the effort to help out others aggrieved by the shock. We certainly commend your nerves of steel and altruistic approach to help out the people affected by the incident.

We don’t have the words to describe your efforts as you were one of the first volunteers who responded and mobilized in an extraordinary effort to be of aid to our fellow citizens who had been harmed.
Your timely response to our initial calls for aid and supply was phenomenal. You did whatever you could do, and the generosity was awe-inspiring. Unfortunately, the disaster is still not over and volunteers from every part of the city and from around the country still dig through the ruined building to find and identify our loved ones.

Many have said that our city and our state will never be the same, and we believe they are correct. However, we believe that from this improbable disaster and the bonding of people that occurred in its wake, we will all grow together and make our home an even better place to live, to raise our children and to pursue a life of goodness and grace.

On behalf of Humanity, thank you immensely for your volunteer effort!

Sincerely,
