As internal correspondence goes, emails are the best and quickest way of reaching out to employees and coworkers. This is especially true when you have an announcement to make but cannot gather people to make it physically. So if one of your team members has been awarded a promotion, the best way of announcing it is through an email.
If one person has been promoted, why would the entire team be notified? Well for one, it is important to pay respect to the employee who has obtained the promotion in front of the rest of the team. Secondly, it is imperative that an email like this is sent so that other team members are motivated and strive to work as hard as the one who was promoted.
A promotion announcement email needs to be simply written, charting out the agenda of the email and building up on it with specific information. This type of email is usually written after the subject of the email has been informed of the promotion. As a supervisor or director, it is up to you to make sure that you provide details of why the promotion was given, including some of the employee’s specific qualifications and achievements.
Here is a sample promotion email addressed to all team members:
Sample Promotion Email to Team by Director
To: Team American Gardens
Subject: Promotion Announcement for Mr. Dennis Cooper
Dear Team:
It is with immense pleasure and pride that I am announcing the promotion of Mr. Dennis Cooper to the position of a sales manager. His contribution to the biggest sales promotion that American Gardens has organized in the past 10 years was colossal, increasing company revenue by a staggering 65%!
In Mr. Cooper’s new role, he will be leading the American Gardens sales team to further heights – a feat I am positive that he will be able to undertake with professionalism and perfection. Since I anticipate that the end of 2017 will see the company’s corporate membership rise from 5400 to 8000, I am entrusting this task to him. I am sure that the entire team will agree that he will lead us to profits that the company hasn’t seen as yet! Of course, it will not be possible without all of you providing him the support that he will require in order to achieve this.
To honor Mr. Cooper, I would like to invite all of you to a dinner on Monday, July 18 at Olive Grove, at 8 pm. Let’s all meet and raise a toast to him.
Sincerely,
Sabrina Coleman
Director
