Thank You Letter for Attending Event

By | January 8, 2017

When people take time out to come to an event, especially if they’re VIPs, they deserve a small thank you for gracing the host with their presence. It’s only natural for someone to think that writing a thank you letter would be a waste of time, but then remember, they could’ve thought attending your event… a waste of time.

Whether it’s a big event or a small family wedding, a “thank you for coming” letter is in order. So, grab your pens and your papers; always preferable to using a computer for this purpose, and get writing. It’s not so difficult, just begin with how their presence transformed the event, and then simply thank them for that. Appreciate them for taking the trouble to come, and for any speeches or autographs they gave, if they are celebrities.

The more important the recipient is, the more you have to write in the letter, as I presume certain people’s attendance to your event is something you would want more often.

Dear Dr. Reid:

On behalf of the entire staff of Little Miracles, I would like to formally thank you for attending our school’s medical awareness week. I know that being one of the top heart surgeons in the state you are a very busy person and that being said, the time you had given us was very valuable indeed. Your attending the event meant a lot to the students, as we are one of the first schools for children with fatal and dangerous diseases, these medical awareness weeks mean a lot to us.

Thank you so much for the speech you gave on the podium, telling all the children about the new medical advancements and how you believe that in the near future, the diseases the children suffer from will be easily cured, and will no longer remain handicaps for them. I hope you can attend future events in our little school and inform your colleagues about us. As you know, any doctor who attends is welcome.

I personally was moved when you accepted our invitation, if there are more people like you who take out their time to help kids in need, it gives me hope of making this world a better place for our future generations. The next event is in six months, this is an unofficial invitation to that as well.

Again, Dr. Reid, I can’t thank you enough! The world needs more like you!

Sincerely,
