The New Year is a much looked-forward-to event for a number of reasons. The Christmas spirit hasn’t yet worn off and we have holidays during which we can relax and unwind. Also, there is a new beginning to look forward to – many of us make New Year resolutions and intend to stick to them which gives us all quite a lot of motivation for the coming months.
Remembering your friends on New Year is something we all do – whether they live nearby or far away, we all like to wish them a happy New Year. So if you have a best friend who does not live too near you, why don’t you send him a letter wishing him Happy New Year? What would you write in a letter of this type? Well, there is much that you can write – you do not necessarily need to write a one-liner wishing him; you can also connect with him by telling him you have missed him or giving him an account of what the New Year in your city is like.
You may have lost contact with your best friend over the years, so it is a good idea to write a New Year letter to him so that you can let him know that you have been thinking of him. Here is a sample you can use:

Dear Curt:
There is no better time than the New Year to let you know how much I have missed you. Happy New Year to the best friend I have had since my childhood! I hope and pray that you are well and happy in your new house in Staten Island.
I have looked forward to each New Year’s Eve because I get to spend it with you. This time however, things are bit different because you have moved. Nonetheless, I would like you to know that I have been thinking about you and will pay a visit to you soon so that we can pick up from where we left off. New Year in Syracuse as you know is beautiful. Now that it has snowed, everything looks pristine – the color of lights and buntings is a beautiful contrast to the white that has covered the city. I wish you were here to enjoy this with me.
During Easter holidays in April, I intent to travel to Staten Island so that we can spend Easter together. I hope that for now, you are enjoying the New Year in your new house. I would love to receive a reply from you. Look after yourself.
Love,
Martin Thomas
