Sample Labor Day Letter to Employees

By | August 16, 2018

Appreciating your employees, especially when a day dedicated to them is around the corner, is important. Labor Day is an event that all working people can appreciate and look forward to. It is a holiday, and many of us look forward to it for the whole year. And if you are an employer, it is important that you ensure that your employees make the best of this day.

Writing a labor day letter to your employees will make sure that you extend your thanks to them on this day, and give them something to celebrate. Tell them how much you appreciate them, and what they mean to you, and the company. This can be done through a letter addressed to each employee but it can also be done if you write one letter to the entire employee family.

Your letter should highlight why you feel that your employees are important to you, and how you would like to honor them by giving them a day off, and maybe a little something on the side as well, like a bonus. Make your letter an upbeat piece of writing, ensuring that the people reading it feel motivated to work for you for the next few years too at the very least.

To see how you can write a Labor Day letter to your employees, have a look at the following sample that addresses one employee at a time:

Dear Mr. Bale:

I would like to take out this opportunity to thank you and other employees of United Way for the exceptional effort that you have put into taking this company to the heights that it is at right now. With Labor Day just a few days away, I feel that it is the perfect occasion to appreciate all that you have done for your department, and the company.

It is an honor to have such a dedicated team to work for United Way. Together, we have touched heights that I could not have imagined achieving alone. Since Labor Day this year is on a Friday, I wish all of you a happy long weekend as well, and hope that you will have a wonderful time with your family and friends. To make this deal sweeter, I will be announcing a bonus for each employee on our first working day after the weekend.

Have a wonderful Labor Day and a rocking weekend.

Sincerely,

Evan Robertson
