With travelling is becoming somewhat strained due to the immense threats around the world, many countries have tightened their visa approval laws. Where it was once alright to just mention your purpose of acquiring a visa in a visa application form, it is now necessary to provide reasons and evidence of why you are applying for one.
Invitation letters for obtaining business visas are usually required by embassies so that they can verify that you are indeed traveling to another country for the purpose you have mentioned in your application form. This is especially true for business visas where it is important for embassies to know that you are traveling to their country only because you want to attend a meeting per say and not planning to move there permanently.
A letter for invitation written for obtaining a business visa is a simple document that merely states all the facts. This includes information regarding where an individual is going, specific information regarding his business in the destination country and how long he intends to stay there. Some letters of this sort will also specify that the individual will be handling his own expenses or will be funded by the company to make things clearer for the destination country.
Following is a letter of invitation sent from one offshore branch of a company to the US embassy in another country.

Re: Issuance of Visit Visa to Mr. Channing Tatum
Dear Sir / Madam:
Green Peace USA is holding a seminar on handling global warming issues on an international scale and would like Mr. Channing Tatum to be a part of it. Mr. Tatum has contributed immensely to the mission of Green Peace in Canada and we would like his input on this very serious global problem. We would like Mr. Tatum to be attend this seminar on our responsibility.
The seminar is being held at Inter-Continental Hotel in Port Orchard on March 15, 2015 at 11 am. We have already sent an informational email to Mr. Tatum’s office and have received a go-ahead from his supervisor. During his entire trip, his living arrangements and expenses will be our responsibility. We have already asked him to handle his traveling arrangements (including visa prearrangements) for the date that best suits him so that we can coordinate the payments that we need to release to him for this trip.
All other documents that you will need to process Mr. Tatum’s visa are enclosed herewith. Please contact our office at our internationally available number (555) 555-5555 if there are any questions that you may want to ask.
Sincerely,
