All “thank you” letters should be short and sincere; of course you would already know that. When the reason for the thank you is important, then the letter flows out by itself.
With such complicated organizational structures and organizational goals, training sessions have drastically changed over the last thirty or forty years. It has now become imperative for all relevant personnel to be present to synchronize the organization. It is a known fact that training sessions, whether inter or intra companies, is highly important for decision making. Therefore, if everyone who is invited attends, then, only then can it work. And every person who attends does deserve a thank you note, and perhaps they feel the same gratitude towards you for setting up the training session.
If you were present at the session, it will be easier to write the letter, since you will know how each participant’s presence affected the session, and you can thank them accordingly. Here is how to do this:

We would like to thank you for attending our training sessions, even though you joined last week; you were an invaluable addition to the learning atmosphere. We admire your contribution and the time you spent with us, and hope you walked away with a new innovative methodology and profitable ideas.
I would also like to thank you for being bold enough to mention critical issues you had noticed in the short time you spent with us. I have high hopes for you as a manager. You were cooperative and maintained the mindset of a student, which is something I would like you to pass on to your department.
The trainer asked me to tell you that you were one of the better listening employees, and that he believes you have understood the entire session. If that is the case, then I would like to see the results in your management.
Take this as an invitation to our next training session which is in June. I’m sure that you will grace us with your learner’s mindset and once again be a good example for your colleagues. I’m sure you will go far!
